On Thursday, April 20, 2017, the AUB Social club organized a conference entitled "Room for Change". Prior to the event tombola tickets were sold on campus for LL 5000 each in order to collect funds. The draw will be done next week; 4 sponsors provided us with the prize. A food drive was launched on campus through these activities which will help us raise money to financially support Father Allawi's altruistic journey. During the upcoming couple of weeks we will be volunteering at one of Allawi’s charity restaurants after having donated the amount of money raised. A registration form will be created for anyone interested in joining us can sign up, despite their political or religious background.
The number of attendees exceeded our expectations. Father Majdi Allawi, founder of the organization “Bonheur du Ciel”, informed us about his charity, the activities he has already done and his ongoing projects. In addition, the advisor of the Minister of Social Affairs was a guest speaker. He discussed several points including the poverty program recently implemented and the importance of the youth’s involvement in the social causes and benevolent. 
The purpose of this event was to raise awareness about Father Allawi's project and encourage our youth to get involved in this selfless charitable cause.
